Looking back...
It’s been two months since we exhibited at the Birmingham Dentistry Show. It’s tempting to wax lyrical straight after an event like that, when you’re still full of the buzz, the pace, the energy. But taking a breath before looking back allows for fresh perspective. It gives you clarity on what an event like that really means, not just in the moment, but in the ripple effect that follows.
Because exhibiting was never just about the stand. It wasn’t about how many flyers we handed out, or how many tote bags we gave away. It was a statement: we’re here, we’re serious, and we’re invested in this industry. Sketch Dental isn’t a sideline, it’s a speciality. It’s what we do, day in and day out.
And we do it with style. This came across loudly and clearly, on the exhibition floor. The number of people who told us our stand “felt different”, or that it “looked more like a brand than an agency”, was striking. That’s no accident. We’ve always believed that dental marketing deserves to be as elevated, considered, and experience-led as the private practices we work with.
What I felt most strongly at the Show wasn’t just pride in how we showed up visually, it was pride in how we showed up as a team. Standing alongside my colleagues, you could feel the connection, not just between us, but between us and the wider dental industry. These are relationships that run deeper than day rates or delivery schedules. There’s a real sense of community in dentistry, and community sits at the heart of all effective marketing.

What's happened since...
Since the show, we’ve noticed a shift. The conversations we’re now having, with existing clients, with past contacts, with practices we’d never spoken to before, are more focused, more ambitious, more open. Practices are coming to us not just for leads, but for clarity. They want sharper strategy. They want to understand where their brand sits in a crowded market, and how they can carve out a distinctive, lasting presence.
One of my favourite conversations after the show was with a principal dentist who told us they’d been quietly watching our work for over a year. “I wasn’t sure if you were the real deal,” they said, “but after meeting the team and seeing how you talked, I get it now.” That honesty matters. Because trust in this industry doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built in layers, like the patient journey itself.
Another moment that stayed with me came from a client who popped by the stand unannounced, just to say how proud they were to be working with us. That kind of feedback means the world, not because it flatters the ego, but because it confirms we’re building something that truly connects.
What’s become clear, again and again, is that today’s dental practices aren’t just looking for marketing. They’re looking for strategic partners. Teams that understand the pressure of running a practice, the potential of a great brand, and the people behind every appointment, and every lead. The Show didn’t just give us a platform to talk about that; it gave us space to listen.

What happens next...
If we met at the Show, or if you’ve been meaning to get in touch ever since, consider this your nudge, or better yet, your call to action. When you book a Discovery Call with Sketch Dental, the discovery works both ways. We take the time to understand you, your practice, your patients, and where your potential really lies.
The Birmingham Dentistry Show wasn’t a one-off. It was a milestone in the journey we’re on as an agency. A moment to step out from behind the digital marketing screen and into the room. To meet, to listen, to align. And to commit to the future we’re helping to build together with our clients, our peers, and the industry we’re proud to be part of.
